Winwyn Marquez isn't closing the door to pageantry just yet
Winwyn Marquez ( won the Reina Hispanoamerica crown back in 2017. Since then, she's been balancing being a mother to her daughter Luna Teresita Rayn as well as acting opportunities with the Kapuso Network, like her role in the show Mga Lihim ni Urduja.
So far, returning to the world of pageantry has not been in her plans, that is until the announcement of no age limits for competitors was announced by the Miss Universe and Miss Universe Philippines organizations.
Winwyn answered questions about her possible return to pageantry on the podcast Updated with Nelson Canlas, telling the entertainment reporter that the new rules have made consider possibly competing in a pageant once again.
“I feel like, now they understand din kung ano talaga ang babae na binibigyan ng opportunity to join again,” she explained. “Kasi even if you're 35, 36 iba 'yung maturity ng ganu'ng babae e. Ang daming maiimpart sa stage ng pageantry, di ba?”
Winwyn also expressed her excitement at the recent inclusion of moms in the Miss Universe Philippines pageant, seeing as she is a mother herself.
“Ako excited ako, kasi 'di ba 'yung Miss Universe Philippines may moms na rin na sumali. So it was really exciting to watch for me,” she shared. “And siyempre pro ako doon kasi Mommy ako, may times din na sana 'yung dream na 'yun hindi pa nashashatter puwede akong sumali, which is nice.”
When asked directly if she is thinking of joining another pageant, Winwyn answered yes - but maybe a few years down the line. After all, she is already a titleholder thanks to her Reina Hispanoamerica win.
“I want to, maybe in the future, not now siguro, pag malaki-laki na 'yung anak ko, 'di ba? Well, I'm saying that now, I don't know a few years from now,” she said. “Wala naman mawawala sa akin because I'm happy where I am, I have a daughter, I love my family is okay na, nakamit ko na 'yung crown.”
