Jake Vargas, may balak iwanan ang showbiz?

Much like in the sitcom that he’s part of, Jake Vargas is a family-oriented young man.

In Pepito Manaloto where he plays Chito, his ties with his family are tightly knit, and them getting through challenges together reflects what happens in his own family.

Jake is the bread winner, making him treasure all the blessings even more, and challenging him to be wise about his decisions.

“Syempre [dahil] bread-winner ako, kailangan mag-ipon,” he said.

In an industry like show business, he admits that it isn’t easy but he’s making the most of the experience.

“Dito ako nakilala ng ibang tao, marami akong [nagiging] friends, dito, na-iimprove [skills ko]… Nakaipon na rin ako,” he shared, acknowledging how show business has helped him make his life better.

At the young age of 21, he is part of a hit sitcom and two variety shows, and has already gained a large following. Does he see himself growing old in this industry?

“Hindi ko nga alam kung artista pa rin ako [pagtanda ko, pero] ine-enjoy ko muna 'yung ngayon,” he declared.

He sees himself more in a different industry. “Gusto ko kasi maging chef,” the young actor confessed. He then expressed his plan of studying Culinary Arts when his circumstances and his schedule allow it.

Jake recognizes that a lot of things are transient, and the fame he enjoys now is not permanent. He knows that if he gets a degree and pursues something he is passionate about, he’ll be able to keep giving his family a comfortable life.
