Riel Lomadilla says 'This is My Now' by Jordin Sparks is the song that best describes her life now
XOXO member and Magandang Dilag actress Riel Lomadilla described her life today with the song "This is My Now" by international artist Jordin Sparks, saying that despite many people not believing in her, she has thrived in the industry, and in case you didn't know, she has been in the business for five years already.
“Ang aga a? Pero I think the song that would describe my life right now, ano po, 'This is My Now' by Jordin Sparks,” Riel said during her interview in the GMA Regional TV morning show Mornings with GMA Regional TV when asked how she would describe her life now with a song title.
The song talks about the journey of the singer from “livin' in a shell” and “hiding from myself” to finally accepting what's happening to her at the moment, and leaving her fears behind.
The song also talks about having courage to take a step forward into something unknown and being ready for what is yet to come.
Riel explained why she chose the song, “Kasi po ako ay bata galing po sa probinsya, alam niyo naman po na ako ay half black, ganito, ganyan.
“At kagaya nga po ng sinasabi ko, maraming hindi naniniwala sa akin kasi nga hindi naman ako pasok sa beauty standards ng Philippines," she said.
She added, “Pero po, sa awa ng Diyos, meron pong mga taong naninawala sa akin na tamang tao, ta's 'yun, nilagay niya 'ko dito at ilalaban natin every year, at hindi ko po akalain, five years na'ko sa showbiz.”
Earlier in the interview, Riel mentioned that while she only met her Magandang Dilag co-star and best friend Herlene Budol during taping, she has been following the beauty queen turned actress ever since she started by watching her vlogs.
“Nainspire talaga ako kasi nakikita ko yung sarili ko sa kanya. Madaming nag babash, madaming hindi naniniwala, pero ano sila ngayon, 'di ba?” she added.
