Isko Moreno is happy to provide job opportunities through his business venture
Former Manila mayor and actor Isko Moreno is back in the entertainment industry not only as an actor but through his newest venture, a start-up multimedia company called Scot Media Productions, where he is happy to provide opportunities to individuals looking for work.
In an interview on Marites University, Isko expressed happiness that he was able to provide job opportunities to people looking for work, especially after the pandemic.
“Initially, I just wanted to follow the request of those people who wanted me to be seen. Talagang nag re-request sila e. So 'yun 'yung basic na decision,” Isko said on starting his web show Iskovery Night and his company.
He added that the second reason was because his children agreed to start the business and the show after he asked them, and third, because of the job opportunities he was able to provide.
“When we're doing this, I realized, andami mong nabigyan ng trabaho. Now, I get inspired kasi may umaasa na sa 'yong tao. You need to be better and of course, we need the support of our viewers,” he added.
The former mayor also said that the simple act of subscribing to the channels they produce, liking the videos, and sharing them is enough support for him.
“At the end of the day, para na rin kayong nakatulong sa mga taong nasa likod ng camera na may tabaho sila. With all honesty, doon ako na-inspire,” he said.
He then said that even with the small income from one of the YouTube channels they produced when it first started, he believes in the thermometer principle that everything above 0 is positive.
He then recalled his realization at the time, “So sabi ko, 'pwede pala.' So what more if the viewers of the shows dumami, it can make a business and business creates jobs and jobs creates certainty in the lives of everybody.”
“Bigla ko na-realize na 'Uy, para ka rin palang nasa public service by giving opportunity,'” he added.
