Ivana Alawi spread holiday cheers by giving away cash to homeless families
Ivana Alawi recently reached an amazing milestone on YouTube as she hit the 10 million subscriber mark.
To celebrate, the beautiful 23-year-old YouTuber wanted to share her joy and the love she receives from her many viewers by literally sharing her blessings from the video-sharing platform.
On her latest vlog, uploaded on December 13, Ivana said that although it's common for YouTubers to celebrate the milestone lavishly, she'd much rather share her blessing to those in need, given that it's almost Christmas day (which also happens to be her birthday).
She said to the camera, “So guys, itong si Mona [her younger sister] alam niyang hindi kami magse-celebrate ng bonggang bongga for the 10 million subscriber milestone kasi sinabi ko sa kanya na ayaw kong gumastos ng malaki.
“I'd rather na ipamigay na lang 'yun kaysa magkaroon kami ng engrandeng selebrasyon na bibili kami ng maraming gamit.
“Sabi ko sa kanila dati, gusto ko ng simple lang. Kasi ayaw ko talaga ng malaking celebration kung puwede naman nating ipamigay sa mga nangangailangan ng tulong ngayon. Kahit birthday parties, ayaw ko rin.”
Throughout the 16-minute video, Ivana brought her fans along with her as she gathered all the things she needs to give away.
This included food baskets, rice grains, peanut butter jars, bottles of orange juice, chocolates, and of course, Christmas ham.
She then proceeded to work by going around Metro Manila, searching for homeless families who require a good pick-me-up this holiday season.
Aside from the food baskets, she also gave away PhP 10,000 in cash to the families, who equally thanked her for her kind gesture.
For her subscribers, Ivana plans to give away 10 scholarship grants for a two-year course in Datamex College of Saint Adeline, which has three branches to date, namely in Quezon City, Valenzuela, and Meycauayan.

She was a contestant in the sixth season of GMA's hit reality artista search StarStruck in 2015.
Today, Ivana is one of the most popular YouTubers in the country, who averages more than 5 million views for every upload.
Her content usually ranges from pranks to challenges, which often includes her family members and friends.
In one of her vlogs, Ivana mentioned earning more than “five to six” digits per vlog and said she prefers to save her money rather than on material things.
