Isabelle Daza shares her quarantine reading list

Actress and host Isabelle Daza is currently spending the quarantine in Hong Kong with her husband Adrien Semblat and their son Balthazar.

She has kept her self busy by reading books as she shares that is has been one of her New Year's resolutions for 2020.

In an Instagram post, Isabelle has shared some of the books she has read since the quarantine.

"My new years resolution has been to read more: 1 book a month. Sharing a few titles: I have enjoyed since the lockdown started in March. (Underground Railroad is my September book; Immortalists not in photo)," she wrote on the caption.


Here's a list of what Isabelle has been reading.

1. Call Me by Your Name by André Aciman
Call Me by Your Name is a 2007 novel by American writer André Aciman. It tells the story of a summer romance between a young man named Elio and doctoral student Oliver who stays in the vacation home of Elio's parents in Italy. It has been adapted into a 2017 film which starred Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer.

2. Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides
Middlesex is a 2002 novel by American novelist and short story writer Jeffrey Eugenides. The story chronicles the effect of a mutated gene in three generations of a family, as narrated by Cal, an intersex character. The novel won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2003, among may other accolades.

3. Trick Mirror: Reflections on Self-Delusion by Jia Tolentino
Trick Mirror: Reflections on Self-Delusion is a 2019 collection of essays by American writer and editor Jia Tolentino. it contains nine essays whose topics range from internet culture to feminism. The book debuted on The New York Times Bestseller List at #2 in the category Combined Print & E-Book Non-Fiction.

4. Let My People Go Surfing: The Education of a Reluctant Businessman by Yvon Chouinard
Let My People Go Surfing: The Education of a Reluctant Businessman is a book by Yvon Chouinard, founder of outdoor clothing and gear company Patagonia. Through the book, he shares how his outdoor expeditions inspired designs for his sports equipment and how his love of the outdoors gave him the courage to build his business.

5. Becoming by Michelle Obama
Becoming is a memoir written by former First Lady Michelle Obama. It was published in 2018 and talks about Michelle's personal experiences which include growing up in Chicago, motherhood and her time at the White House. It also has an audiobook edition which won a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album in 2020.

6. The Everything Store: Jeff Bezos and the Age of Amazon by Brad Stone
The Everything Store: Jeff Bezos and the Age of Amazon is a book which explores the rise of e-commerce giant Amazon.com. It was written by American journalist Brad Stone in 2013. The book won the 2013 Financial Times and McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award.

7. The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead
The Underground Railroad is a 2016 novel by American author Colson Whitehead. It tells an alternate history story of two slaves named Cora and Caesar who try to escape for their freedom. The book won the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, the 2016 National Book Award for Fiction, the Arthur C. Clarke Award in 2017, and the 2017 Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence.

8. The Sex Issue: Everything You've Always Wanted to Know about Sexuality, Seduction, and Desire by the Editors of GOOP
The Sex Issue: Everything You've Always Wanted to Know about Sexuality, Seduction, and Desire is a self-help book released in 2018 by the editors of GOOP, Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle brand. The GOOP editors present takes of various experts on issues of sexual health, relationships and intimacy. The book also features a foreword from Gwyneth Paltrow herself.

Aside from reading, Isabelle also developed an animated children's story to explain the COVID-19 pandemic to children.

She has also opened up about her scariest experience as a mom -- when her son Balthazar experienced a seizure due to a very high fever.
