Dingdong Dantes revives love for playing guitar amid ECQ
Now that President Rodrigo Duterte extended the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) until April 30 to contain the spread of COVID-19, individuals have more time to learn something new and revive the hobbies left undone long back.
That being the case, Dingdong Dantes's way to make the most of ECQ is by refreshing his skills in playing guitar.
On his Instagram account, the Descendants of the Sun lead actor posted his recent photos where he is playing acoustic guitar at home as he recalled his musician days.
He shared, "Back in grade school, I was a drummer of an amateur rock band whose only claim to fame was winning first runner up in the school's '94 Battle Of The Bands. Second out of only 2 participating groups."
He continued, "Since then, I've always wanted to learn how to play a whole song on guitar. The farthest I've reached was learning 3 chords-- G, D and A, mula pa sa kabanda kong magaling mag gitara."
Dingdong then admitted that he has lacked enthusiasm to play guitar again until his triathlon teammate and friend, Kim Atienza, inspired him to revive this interest.
Dingdong said, "I had given up on that dream not until i saw the post of @kuyakim_atienza wanting to learn the instrument during this ECQ.
"So ayun, kailan pa ba ako matututo kundi ngayon?!
"I am grateful to my friend (and grade school classmate) for hooking me up with one of their stocks!
"Mabuti na lang at may on-line tutorials din for beginners like me."
Dingdong also added that he will first try to learn how to play the birthday song as his son, Ziggy, turns one this Thursday, April 16.
He concluded, "First on the list is for my little Buddy's celebration this coming Thursday-- ang napakahirap at napakalupet na Happy Birthday song.
"Ikaw, ano request mo?"
