Super Pink Moon, to fill the night sky on April 8
Amid the series of unfortunate events caused by the pandemic coronavirus disease, a supermoon called the “Pink Moon” will grace the clear night sky with its beautiful presence on Wednesday, April 8.

In fact, this supermoon is also the Paschal Full Moon, the full moon that determines the date of Easter Sunday.
This lunar phenomenon is second in the series of supermoons that started on March 10 with the Worm Moon and will end on May 7 with the Flower Moon.
According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, the Pink Moon was nicknamed after the Phlox subulata also known as the creeping phlox or the moss pink flower, a wildflower native to eastern North America that blooms during the early springtime.
“Historically, full Moon names were used to track the seasons and, for this reason, often relate closely to nature,” the Old Farmer's Almanac explained.
Philippine Astronomical Society also clarified that the Pink Moon will not literally turn to pink because it is just a label used by western countries and that these labels are not actually applicable in the Philippine culture.
