Alden Richards to fulfill dream of becoming a pilot: 'Capt. Alden at your service'

After successfully fulfilling his late mother's wish, Alden Richards is set to pursue his and his dad's longtime dream of becoming a pilot.

In an interview after signing a partnership deal with Viva Inc. last Thursday, March 27, GMANetwork.com asked Asia's Multimedia Star about other things he would want to pursue.

He answered, “Kung yung nanay ko kasi nga, ang gusto talaga sa akin ay maging artista , mag-showbiz; yung pagtatapos naman po ng school ay pangarap ng tatay ko.

“I think sa part ng pag-fulfill sa pangarap ng nanay ko, medyo accomplished na po tayo kahit papaano. So, doon sa part naman na pag-fulfill ng dad ko para sa akin, gusto ko yun.”

Then, the 33-year-old actor revealed that he received a scholarship offer from an aviation school.

“Right now, puwede ko nang i-share, may nag-o-offer… Since I've been very vocal about na maging pilot, there's an aviation school in Clark that offered a scholarship for me,” Alden said with a big smile.

This prompted the entertainment media to call him “Capt. Alden.”

He replied with a salute, “Capt. Alden at your service.”

According to Alden, being a pilot is a longtime dream of his father.

“Sobrang excited po ako,” he said. “. It has been my dad's dream also. Personal dream niya to be a pilot. So, sabi ko, 'Sige, Dad, since 59 ka na, ako na lang.' Hopefully, kung kaya, this year matapos ko yung course. Then, lipad-lipad na tayo.”

When asked if he has fear of heights, Alden answered, “Wala. Nag-skydive nga ako sa Dubai, e. As in mahilig po ako sa matataas na lugar. Parang, figuratively speaking, ine-eject ka sa mundo kapag nasa taas ka. So, let's fly. Let's go!”
