GMA Network is set to air an exciting array of new action-packed shows, among which are the action-adventure series Mga Lihim ni Urduja, and the mecha-anime series Voltes V: Legacy. Because of this, the stars of the series have been busy training in martial arts for their respective roles to deliver some of the best action scenes viewers can see.
Aside from self-defense, martial arts is also a great way to stay fit and active, especially if people have no time to go to the gym. It's one of the best cardio exercises, a way to train muscles, coordination, balance, and discipline. That's why some celebrities chose to train in different martial arts too and are clearly enjoying the benefits.

Kylie Padilla started her training for her role in Mga Lihim ni Urduja together with co-star Vin Abrenica. In an interview, Kylie said that she asked her dad, action star Robin Padilla for help with her training.

Vin Abrenica, meanwhile, has been training in the Filipino martial arts Arnis. He's doing it for his cardio workout, too.

Aside from Vin, Jeric Gonzales has also been doing some martial arts training for his role in Mga Lihim ni Urduja.

Actress Cristine Reyes also trained in Jiu-Jitsu, a martial art that focuses on grappling and takedowns. Additionally, she also trained in Kali, the bladed weapons branch of Filipino martial arts for a role in a movie.

'Voltes V: Legacy' star Raphael Landicho trained in Taekwondo, a martial art focused on kicks.
Rocco Nacino
