The Philippines and Filipinos all over the world continue to mourn the death of our 15th president, Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.

President Noynoy, whom the public fondly calls PNoy, passed away on June 24, Thursday, at 6:30 a.m. due to renal disease secondary to diabetes. He was 61 years old.

President PNoy's sister, Pinky Aquino-Abellada, and the rest of their family faced the media during the fateful day of his death to make the formal announcement and pay tribute to him.

“No words can express how broken our hearts are and how long it would take for us to accept the reality that he's gone. Mission accomplished ka, Noy. Be happy now with dad and mom.

“We love you and we are so blessed to have had the privilege to have had you as our brother. We will miss you forever, Noy.”

Current president, Rodrigo Duterte, has declared a 10-day period of national mourning for the late President PNoy, which will run from June 24 to July 3, 2021.

The late president's remains have been cremated and the public will be able to pay their last respects to him today, June 25, at the Church of Gesu inside the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) in Quezon City until 10 p.m.

Several supporters, establishments and educational institutions have already paid tribute to President PNoy, including his alma mater, ADMU, where yellow and black ribbons have been tied to the fences.

Many netizens and artists have also come up with their own masterpieces to celebrate the late president's life and his legacy.
