Raymond Bagatsing tells his COVID-19 story in an Instagram post.

Raymond Bagatsing revealed what happened when he found out that he is COVID-19 positive.

When the result was given to him, Raymond's initial thought was there might be a mistake.

He said in his Instagram post, “After getting a positive, I called the Doctor that it might be a mistake, because I feel strong. Maybe weak sometimes from caloric deficit and daily IF [intermittent fasting], but I don't feel sick at all. Or I thought so, anyway.”

Raymond asked for another test but the doctor told him it will still have the same result.

He was also advised to focus on his health, especially his lungs.

“I asked the Doctor how accurate the Swab is, because I feel alright.

"She said, it'll just be the same result if I get another. So I trusted the process and did 2 weeks of quarantine. Doctor advised, since I am Asymptomatic, to be healthy and get my lungs stronger.”

Additionally, Raymond shared what he considers made him vulnerable to the virus.

“Most times, when I work out hard and do not eat enough on that training day, I do feel my lungs weaken.

"I was also careful staying indoors most time unless necessary to go out; very minimal exposure. Could be when I went out of town, I didn't eat much, depended on caffeine, over workout and less nutrition - that could be when I became susceptible.”

Based on his post, he did his own research and followed these measures during his quarantine period to overcome COVID-19.

“One week into my quarantine, I did feel wheezing in my lungs.

"Intuitionally, I incorporated cold-pressed malunggay to my daily diet. I still worked out heavily, but I ate more.

"Then I read that moringa leaves strengthens weak lungs. I kept taking 1/4th cup daily with my protein and veggie shakes. I felt lungs strengthen.”

According to Raymond, he finally got a negative result and he is thankful for the messages of support that he received.

“Got my negative result. Thank you all for your well wishes and concern. I am touched and privileged to be connected with you all, even through social media. I am truly grateful for your love and friendship.”

As a COVID-19 survivor, he shared some of the lessons that he learned during his ordeal.

“Moral of the story: from my experience, the psychological challenges far outweigh the virus itself or the result.

"Try to overcome the mind's anxiety and fears. Know that it's just a natural reaction, but not the entire truth.

"Our minds are so powerful that it can manifest anything if it truly believes. More so if it's a misdiagnosis.”

He added, “Mind's fear and negative reactions can make everything worse or better. It is a challenge, but one worth understanding.

"You are far more than the mind dictates. Aim to be still, relaxed and healthy. Reach out. Believe. Keep going. Much love, Rama”
