Alice Dixson tries intermittent fasting for 30 days
Actress Alice Dixson has admitted to always hearing about intermittent fasting from her friends and colleagues.
She says that she has never really given much thought to try it as she is content to eat six small meals a day to keep her body fit and healthy.
After doing some research, Alice decided to try intermittent fasting for a month. She chronicled her experiences in her newest vlog.
She decided to try the 16:8 diet which means that in a day, eight hours are dedicated as her eating window while she will not take any food for the other 16 hours.
As advised by her friend and fellow beauty queen Alma Concepcion, Alice gradually lessened her eating hours instead of going straight to the 16:8 fasting.
"Similar din po ito sa tinatawag nilang 'after six diet' noong araw. It took me two weeks to comfortably get to 16:8," she says.
She also shared one of the mistakes she committed at the beginning of her diet.
"Kumakain ako na parang karagador during my eight-hour eating window so lahat ng weight loss benefits ng IF, nawala. In short, hindi po ako pumayat," she shares.
Eventually, she started eating just two substantial meals a day. After that, she began eating lighter and choosing healthier options.
She used honey instead of sugar and avoided coffee and alcohol.
"I liked the feeling of intermittent fasting kasi hindi ako masydong sobrang busog or felt heavy throughout the day. Also because wala akong restrictions on what to eat, puwede akong kumain ng anything that I wanted. I was able to control the sense of my hunger pangs," she says of her experience.
Alice also reminds her viewers to seek advice from a doctor before trying any diet.
