Pinoy merienda online

Do you miss eating Filipino delicacies and grilled food? Have them delivered to your home by these online street food sellers.

It's been over six months since the community quarantine was implemented and people are itching to go out to dine, travel, and just hangout with friends. And while social distancing and staying home are still advised, people--especially foodies--still find ways to satisfy cravings.

Online businesses and delivery services are booming these days. Even Filipino street food are now available on the internet.

In a recent Pera Paraan episode, Kapuso TV anchor Susan Enriquez introduced some small business owners who are selling Pinoy steet food and merienda online. These online businesses not only offer local treats for people to enjoy at home but also serve as a source of income for stay-at-home parents and those looking to earn extra income.

One such business is Kakanin Miryenda Platter, which offers classic kakanin such as kutsinta, sapin-sapin, puto, and palitaw.

"Naisip ko po na mag-business na hindi na kailangan lumabas ng bahay, pero kumikita pa rin." says Karen Dizon of Kakanin Miryenda Platter.

Karen started her business with only P200, baking homemade puto using a recipe she learned from cooking tutorials on the internet. What started as a small puto business grew into something bigger, offering more Filipino desserts.

She now earns around P2,000 a day. She also offers personalized platters, allowing customers to choose from a variety of Pinoy desserts to combine in a bundle.

But, if you're looking for something savory, On-Sticks Miryenda Platter offers isaw, barbecue, kwek-kwek, and other Pinoy street food favorites. With prices ranging from P300 for 21 pieces to P1000 for 70 pieces, there's a platter for every budget.

According to owner Carl Jerick Cruz, they also offer other Pinoy snacks such as banana cue, maruya, turon, and more. Carl told Pera Paraan, his business began after sharing photos and videos of his homecooked dishes online. "Nagsimula lang siya sa pagluluto sa bahay and nag-post lang ako ng stories tapos marami na nag-react."
