Pilates has been one of Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado's go-to workouts for many years now.

According to the actress, she fell in love with Pilates because it is high-intensity and low-impact. It has gentle moves that are safe and does not overstrain her muscles.

"Doon ako komportable, never ako nagkaroon ng injury like sa triathlon, grabe injury ko sa tuhod, pero 'yun ang para sa 'kin pinaka-safe na gawin kasi kahit siguro, matatanda, buntis, pwedeng gawin 'yun," Jennylyn shared in a previous interview.

She also invested in building a small Pilates studio right at home.

Pilates is believed to improve flexibility, build strength and develop control and endurance in the entire body through the use of precise and controlled movements. It was developed by German physical trainer Joseph Pilates during the early half of the 20th century.
