IN PHOTOS: Heart Evangelista's local twist to her fashionable OOTDs
Queen of Creative Collaborations Heart Evangelista is putting local at the forefront of her OOTDs.
Instead of completing a luxury handbag like Hermes or Chanel, she's trading them all by sporting locally-made handicrafts from Sorsogon, the province where her husband, Chiz Escudero, is currently serving as governor.
On one of her vlogs, Heart shares that it's very important for her to feature local artisans to help the economy rise through the pandemic.
She said, “The greatest thing about it is that we'll be able to feature the artisans here in Sorsogon and support local which is so important these days -- to embrace our own -- especially with everything that's been happening.”
Today we look at how she's putting a local twist to her fashionable items and see how we can incorporate them in our future #OOTDs post-pandemic.
Double Pili bracelets
Heart Evangelista has traded her Cartier bracelets with Double Pili bracelets she designed on her own. She delicately wrapped the pili with thread to add character and added aquamarine crystals to give it a pop of color.
Abaca bag
Sorry, Hermes but it's time for you to take a seat because Heart Evangelista is rocking her crossbody bag made from Abaca that is completely handmade.
Handwoven bag organizers
Heart Evangelista keeps her abubots organized in these handwoven bag organizers.
Padaba Collection
Abaca bags never looked so chic! It's official, Heart Evangelista can make anything look expensive.
Modern playsuit
With the right colors and styling, an indigenous pattern can also look chic and modern like this Steffy de Mylo coordinates.
Zarah Juan
Heart Evangelista also featured another local designer during her trip to Sorsogon. In one of her visits, she wore the Pag-ibig tote bag designed by Filipino designer Zarah Juan.
Ysabelle Dioneda
Heart says stan local designers and their craftsmanship because this Ysabelle Dioneda necklace just screams “add to cart!”
Capiz bracelet
Just mix your capiz bracelet with gold accessories and you already nailed the Heart Evangelista look!
Handwoven hats
Playing with a tropical vibe, Heart Evangelista donned a big handwoven heart for one of her pictorials.
Scarf
One of the many ways to spice up an all-white outfit is to add a bit of color using scarves and Heart used a piece from Zarah Juan in this photo.
Friend
Of course, she doesn't forget to wear clothes by one of her favorite designers and close friend Mark Bumgarner.
