Steve Dailisan honors late father in series of Facebook posts
On August 17, former GMA News reporter Steve Dailisan shared with his followers that his father, Sancho Dailisan, joined the Creator at the age of 70 years old.
He wrote on a tribute post, “I was looking forward to taking you inside the real cockpit one day… I could've been the happiest if I was given the chance to pilot your flight to your hometown in Aklan.
“But what can I say, Dad? You went ahead to your dream destination in the loving arms of God.”
Along with the heartbreaking news is a photo of his dad in a simulation cockpit smiling back at his son.
Steve described writing the post as “something so excruciatingly painful” given that a few hours before his father's passing he asked for prayers from fans.
According to reports, Sancho experienced cardiogenic shock secondary to gastrointestinal bleeding (and possible cerebral hemorrhage) as manifested by acute kidney injury and minor pneumonia.”
He died at 6 p.m. in a hospital located at San Jose Del Monte City in Bulacan.
The next day, Steve changed his profile with his father.

It was on August 22 when Steve's father was laid to rest.
“On behalf of the Dailisan family, we appreciate all your thoughts and sympathies,” Steve wrote.
“Dad is in the loving arms of God now. For sure he'll draw beautiful structures up there.
“We are letting you go but we will keep you in our hearts forever.
“Lord, kayo na po ang bahala kay Daddy. Ibinabalik na po namin siya sa piling niyo.”
Before his father's passing, Steve was laid off at his previous job due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
Currently, he works as a public affairs employee for a new airline.
"Mala-rollercoaster ride ang pinagdaanan natin lately.
"Nawalan tayo ng trabaho, sumubok sa iba't ibang skill, nakahanap ng trabaho pero biglaan namang namaalam si Daddy sa buhay namin. Samahan niyo sana ako sa pagdarasal para sa kanya.
"I am taking this time to grieve but I promise to be back VERY SOON.
"Miss na miss ko na kayo!" said Steve on his short update on YouTube channel last night, September 8.
