Lovely Rivero posts her last goodbye to her mom

By Cara Emmeline Garcia
An hour after her mom's passing, Lovely Rivero wrote a touching tribute to the matriarch of the house.

Actress Lovely Rivero revealed that she begged for the Lord to give her more time with her mom as she posted her final goodbye on Instagram.

In the post made on Wednesday, July 15, Lovely posted a video of her mom waving her goodbye on their last holiday together in California, USA.

According to the actress, the past few months have not been easy for her and her family as they begin to slowly accept that their mom will be passing away soon.

“It has been a roller coaster ride with you being in and out of the hospital. Your frail little body has endured so much, with a collection of illnesses.

“Yet, your zest for life and will to live carried you through a few more months,” she said.

Lovely added that even before this whole ordeal, she already had an inkling that she had to be with her mom as early as the holidays in 2019.

Mentioning, “I begged God to give me just that holiday season to spend with you. I am glad we were given a chance to do just that.

“I asked God for the holidays but He lent you to us for another 8 months.”

All is going well, until a few weeks ago when their mom had to be sent to the hospital --- a signal of her last moments on Earth.

But because their mom was a fighter, the Rivero matriarch requested to be sent home and call the shots as to how she will take her final bow.

“My siblings & I knew that this is the one thing that would make you happy,” Lovely said.

“With the doctors telling us that they can't do anything anymore, we all decided to get you home asap, as you requested.

“My siblings tried to put up a brave front & make the 'homecoming' festive but we knew it was all a matter of time especially when they had to open the 'Comfort Box' already.

“It was then that we decided it will be a great grand finale for our dear beloved warrior and a celebration of a life well-lived.

“As hard as it is to accept, we came together as a family and decided that it will all be about making you feel loved, comfortable, pain-free, wanted, cared for, needed.”

Throughout their whole week together, both physically and virtually, the 51-year-old and her whole family have been united in giving their mom the special treatment she deserved.

Adding, “Amidst our sorrow and anguish because we knew we were losing you, hearts were bared, love for each other were shown, issues resolved.

“We know you stayed long enough so each of us can have closure. You stayed just long enough to make sure each of us will love & look out for each other even when you're gone.

“Up until the end, in your death bed, you were the glue that held this family together.”

She then thanked her mom for all the wonderful memories they had together and that her legacy will continue to live on in their lives.

“Thank you, Mom, for your life. We are honored & proud to be your children.

“ We love you mom, I think we've shown that in its full splendor this past week. We will keep that love in our hearts until we meet again.

“Now, go on, look at your beautiful, young, nimble self now and soar,” she concluded.

Dearest MOM...The past few months have not been easy for the world and most especially for our family. It has been a roller coaster ride with you being in and out of the hospital. Your frail little body has endured so much, with a collection of illnesses (lahat na yata ng diprensya sa katawan, meron ka, para kang SM, you've got it all😅). Yet, your zest for life & will to live carried you through a few more months. The last time I went to see you in California, I begged God to give me just that Holiday season to spend with you. I am glad we were given a chance to do just that. The family was complete for the Holidays. Christmas 2019 & New Year of 2020 were lovingly spent with you. Although I felt guilty then bec I wasn't with my own kids during the holidays since they stayed behind in Manila, I explained to them that I needed to be a daughter to you. I thank God for giving us that time. I asked God for the Holidays but He actually lent you to us for another 8 months. You were back to your old routine even after I went back home to Manila. However, during your last trip to the hospital, we all knew you were nearing the finish line. But like the true & brave warrior that you were, you soldiered on, choosing to do your final curtain call in your own very special way. You insisted on “coming home”. My siblings & I knew that this is the one thing that would make you happy. With the doctors telling us that they cant do anything anymore, we all decided to get you home asap, as you requested. My siblings tried to put up a brave front & make the “homecoming” festive but we knew it was all a matter of time especially when they had to open the “Comfort Box” already. It was then that we decided it will be a great grand finale for our dear beloved warrior and a celebration of a life well lived. As hard as it is to accept, we came together as a family and decided that it will all be about making you feel loved, comfortable, pain free, wanted, cared for, needed. For one week, our lives totally revolved around you. We all tried our best to make you feel like a “queen” because you are our queen mother. I have never admired my siblings Kim, Jeanna..(cont on comment section).
