Kris shared her struggles and wins as a new mom.
Kris Bernal shared a sentimental post highlighting her 2023 as she welcomed her new role as a first-time mother.
The Kapuso star posted on Instagram a compilation video of how her 2023 started and how she closed the year with her daughter, Hailee Lucca, in her arms.
In her caption, Kris shared how she met an “entirely new” person last year, not just her daughter, but also a new version of herself. She revealed how she “lost” herself in motherhood, which led to the newer version of her.
“I've struggled mentally, physically, and emotionally. Not sure of who I was anymore. My whole world felt so strange. I was drowned in motherhood. And, losing myself led me to find this newer version of me,” Kris said.
The actress continued, “I am broken and then rebuilt, I am stronger. I cry harder and I love deeper. I am constantly learning, growing, and adapting.”

In the same post, Kris penned a sweet message for her daughter, thanking her for coming into her life.
“To my little sunshine I never knew I needed. Thank you for saving me in 2023. You have filled a void in my heart that I know only could have been filled by you. Thank you, Lord, for the blessing of family,” she mused.
Kris ended her caption with a message to first-time moms like her.
“To all the new moms, I see you, I feel you, let's face 2024 with strength, resiliency, compassion, and grace (Even we're all sleep-deprived),” she said.
Kris Bernal and Perry Choi tied the knot in September 2021. They welcomed Hailee Lucca into their lives in August 2023.
