Expect an Older and Wiser Joyce Ching in 'Dormitoryo'
She brings joy and sunshine. This could very well be the best way to describe Joyce Ching. The 18-year-old actress is as bright and bubbly as can be and can often be seen laughing and joking around with her co-stars behind the camera. Her perky personality is a stark contrast to her kontrabida roles in “Anna KareNina” and the suspense-serye, “Dormitoryo”. Here’s what Joyce revealed about her new project.
“Ang role ko po dito ay si Airiz de Ocampo, isa siyang queen bee, kumbaga popular na bad girl siya,” Joyce began. “Ang lagi niyang kaaway dito si Hazel, yung character naman ni Ate Lauren (Young).”
The teen idol confessed that her role as Airiz was a bigger challenge than her similar antagonist roles. “Mas mahirap itong role ko sa Dormitoryo kasi yung mga kasabayan ko sa pag-arte super dalaga na. Unlike sa mga past shows ko, pare-pareho kaming teens lang,” Joyce spilled. “Kailangan talaga mag mature din yung acting ko kasi ang gagaling nila Ate Lauren, nila Ate Winwyn (Marquez), tapos ako pa yung mang-aaway sa kanila.”
Joyce also mentioned that one other hurdle she faces is to separate Airiz from Nina Fuentebella. “Kailangan maiba yung look ni Airiz kay Nina, medyo tricky kasi pareho silang kontrabida at katatapos lang ng Anna KareNina by the time na magsimula ang Dormitoryo. Delikado talaga na mas maalala nila ako as Nina.” With this in mind, the pretty actress already has a game plan for the new thriller. “Sisikapin ko talaga na maging mas sophisticated ang dating ni Airiz compared kay Nina, dalaga na siya, nasa college na. Iba na ang range of emotions niya at pati na rin ang pagkilos niya, ibang level. Medyo height-challenged din yata ako pagdating sa mga kasama ko sa show kaya kailangan ko ng mas mataas na heels,” she laughed.
