The Annual Stockholders' Meeting of GMA Network was held virtually today, May 18, 2022.

GMA Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon proudly reported how the company fared in the last year.

"Notwithstanding the years of lockdowns and the lingering pandemic, we did not just survive 2021, we thrived," he said.

He then went on to explain how GMA-7 was the number one channel in the country, with 46% people audience share and reaching 97.5% of households in the Philippines, according to Total Philippines data from Nielsen

GMA Network's second free-to-air channel GTV is the second most-watched channel from November 2021 to the present.

Digital terrestrial television (DTT) channels such as I Heart Movies and Heart of Asia ranked 5th and 6th, respectively in overall NUTAM channel rankings, putting them behind GMA, GTV, TV5, and A2Z.

GMA Network was able to maintain these ratings in the first quarter of 2022 as GMA-7 remained at the top spot in Total Philippines with people audience shares of 39.66%, while GTV followed at the second spot with 11.65%.

Also, 28 out of the top 30 overall programs are from GMA. Flagship newscast 24 Oras tops the list, followed by the much-loved Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho. On the third spot is GMA Telebabad's First Lady, the sequel to 2020's highest rating program First Yaya.

Meanwhile, GMA Network's flagship radio stations Super Radyo DZBB and Barangay LS FM are unrivaled at number one in Mega Manila.

GMA Regional TV launched Balitang Bicolandia and two new regional stations, namely GMA Bicol and GMA Zamboanga. Adding to that, it opened its 11th originating station, GMA Batangas, and its flagship newscast Balitang Southern Tagalog.

GMA International increased the availability of GMA Pinoy TV on over-the-top (OTT), app-based, internet-enabled outlets and made the content available on video on demand (VOS) in a bid to reach more Filipinos abroad.

GMA Network has also been noteworthy in its performance online as the GMA Network Portal amassed 2.5 billion pageviews in 2021.

It also became the first television network in the Philippines and the second in Southeast Asia to receive three Diamond Creator Awards from YouTube as it has surpassed 10 million subscribers on three different channels.

Near the end of his report, Gozon also reiterated the network's commitment to providing good quality entertainment as well as information that can be trusted.

"At GMA, we will continue to provide our viewers with accurate, trusted, and comprehensive information. Of course, kasama dito ang quality and superior entertainment programs na inyong magugustuhan," he said.
