GMA Network signed a memorandum of agreement with distinguished organizations for the rollout of the 2018 GMA Network Excellence Award (GNEA), GMA’s corporate social responsibility program that honors exemplary graduating students of communication and technology-based courses.

Now on its 16th year, GNEA recognizes excellence through the demonstration of leadership, academic performance, and social responsibility. The candidate must be graduating with honors and is active in socio-civic activities.
 
The MOA signing held last May 15 was led by GMA Network Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon together with GNEA’s partners represented by Airfreight 2100 President Reuben SJ Pangan, YesPinoy Foundation, Inc. Chairman and Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes, University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication Foundation, Inc. Executive Director Maria Angelica D. Abad, Don Bosco Technical College Institutional External Relations Officer Emmanuel C. Averilla, and Angeles University Foundation President Dr. Joseph Emmanuel L. Angeles.

Also present in the signing were GMA Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Communications Angela Javier Cruz and GNEA Ambassador and Kapuso artist Benjamin Alves.

Gozon extended gratitude to their partners and expressed pride for the awardees that they selected in the previous years.  “We thank our partners for supporting this project once again. Palaging maganda ang resulta ng mga excellence award na binibigay natin. Lahat ‘yan kung hindi magna ay summa cum laude. At karamihan sa kanila ay binibigyan natin ng employment sa ating kumpanya dahil talagang magagaling at nagsa-succeed,” Gozon said.

On the other hand, Dantes expressed appreciation for the opportunity to once again participate in GNEA. “Yung fulfillment namin as partners, nakakasama kami sa pag-screen nitong excellent students na ito. Kahanga-hanga dahil mabuting halimbawa talaga sila sa kanilang peers at sa kanilang community. Naniniwala kami na marami talagang magagaling na kabataan d’yan and we just really have to recognize them,” said Dantes.

To join the 2018 GMA Network Excellence Award, students must submit to GMA Corporate Affairs and Communications office an Entry Book which contains the accomplished application form, related work, transcript of records, certificate of candidate for graduation, certificate of good moral character, and recommendation letter. Nominations for the academic year 2017-2018 are open until June 29, 2018.
