On the night of January 13th, Felipe Gozon, Chairman of GMA, delivered his eulogy at the necrological services for German Moreno. In the speech he recalls his first encounter with the Master Showman.
"I cannot imagine a broadcast network without Kuya Germs. Like most of you here, dinatnan ko na 'rin siya rito [German Moreno], but more than most all of you, I can say that I knew Kuya Germs the longest [except for a few others]. You see, right after Martial Law, he got entangled in a case involving the title of his program "Germs Special" and I was his lawyer. We won the case of course."

FLG gave his thoughts on how we can all contribute in keeping the Master Showman's legacy alive.
"While I am now tempted to share with you many stories of my personal experiences with Kuya Germs, I thought to myself, "Ikatutuwa ba niya kung sariwain natin ang mga magaganda n’yang nagawa para sa bawat isa sa atin?"Marahil ikatataba nga ito ng kaniyang puso, but I think Kuya Germs will appreciate more if we keep his legacies alive. How? By loving and nurturing show business with all our heart and all our minds and with utmost sincerity; katulad nga ng ginawa niya noong siya ay nabubuhay pa. At kung hindi 'man natin mahigitan ang kaniyang mga ginawa, at least we can try."
He then praised Kuya Germs on his palabra de honor.

FLG also took note of the Kuya Germ's exceptional humility and unwavering loyalty.
"Mahigit na 45 years si Kuya Germs dito sa Kapuso Network and in most of my dealings with him in my capacity as CEO, we were often guided only by gentlemen's agreement. Kuya Germs was not a man who needed written contracts. Being a lawyer, I found this somewhat disconcerting. Nevertheless, I could not help but admire how he was driven by trust; trust that people will always be good-hearted and live up to their commitments. Kuya Germs was also all about loyalty, may mga unos 'man kaming pinagdaanan noon, at sino naman ang hindi nagdadaan sa unos? His humility truly made him a person larger than life.
He then urged all of us to try and live up to the standards the Master Showman has set for himself.
"And now, as we try each day to contribute to the growth of this industry to which Kuya Germs has devoted his life, may we always be guided by the Master Showman's simple formula. "Hardwork equals success and success itself is multiplied ten-fold or more by a humble heart and most importantly, success should never be divisive."
Lastly, FLG thanked Kuya Germs for all that he has done for GMA and for the industry.
You have earned a well-deserved rest."
