Kapuso artist Benjamin Alves is the ambassador of GMA Network Excellence Award, GMA Network’s CSR program that lauds exemplary graduating students.
Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes was the ambassador in 2014.

"[I’m] very thankful to everyone [who] got me as an ambassador for GMA Excellence Award. It's something na I was aware of [mula] nang nagsimula ang career ko sa GMA. It was something na I followed and [got] interested [in because of] the [people] and connection they have with schools," he said in an interview with GMANetwork.com.
In 2012, the hunk actor got in a scholarship program at the University of Guam where he finished his degree in English Literature in two and a half years as a summa cum laude. He described himself as a "nerd" in college and had a goal of excelling in his studies.

This educational background caught the attention of Corporate Affairs Assistant Vice President Ma. Teresa L. Pacis (TLP). She described the Beautiful Strangers star as the perfect role model in the program, "[He] is very much aligned with what we want to promote because GMA Network Excellence Award stands for making excellence as a way of life."
The GMA executive also praised the actor-TV host for being able to relate with the younger generation when he recently shared his educational experience with the interactive students of the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Cavite.
The Kapuso star will be part of the panel wherein he will screen outstanding graduating students who demonstrated excellence in his/her respective field. He added, "It’s always nice when your hard work is recognized and is rewarded. Nakakatuwa naman na there’s still people striving for excellence. Hopefully, we get to screen all of them and pick the one that’s most deserving."

Present at the contract signing were Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon, Corporate Affairs AVP Ma Teresa L. Pacis, Senior AVP for Entertainment TV and Assigned Talent Manager Gigi S. Lara, and Mercator Artist and Model Management President/CEO Jonas Gaffud.
