GMA Network, led by Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with its partners to team up for the coverage of the national and local elections in 2016.
Atty. Gozon shared his vision and commitment, “This election is happening at a crucial period when the flow of information is becoming more dynamic, freer and faster than ever before. We see an election coverage that is online, on social media, mobile, quick, up close and personal, in addition of course to traditional media.”
“In the midst of this change, however, there are things that remain constant and timeless. That is the people’s clamor for good governance, a need for honest, credible and peaceful elections. And our commitment is to cover the elections with no spins, no personal agenda, truthfully, accurately, comprehensively, and driven only by the calling towards public service,” he also emphasized.
While the landscape in election coverage has changed, he assures that the network’s promise remains and is united with the leading technological service providers, most credible media organizations, distinguished academic institutions, premier legal and socio-civic groups, and devoted election advocacy groups; all of which were represented during the MOU signing held last October 8.
He said, “We are all committed to a comprehensive, accurate and credible Eleksyon 2016 coverage. Our partnership has been tested and has proven to be rock solid over the years. That is why we are very confident that while we may have a formidable task ahead of us, together we will succeed, as before, to deliver our commitment to each and every Filipino who continues to believe in the power of democracy.”
