A bus caught fire on the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in Biñan City, Laguna. All passengers were accounted for.
Authorities said the bus burst into flames at around 10:30 a.m. It was headed to Pasay from Samar.
"'Yung bus po ay from Borongan, Samar. Tapos ang destination po nila ay sa Pasay," FO3 Mark Anthony De Roxas, Intelligence and Investigation Unit Chief of Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Biñan City, said.
The driver managed to pull over at a gas station before the bus was consumed by the fire.
The fire was put out at 11:10 a.m.
Investigators suspect a brake problem triggered the fire.
"Ang kuwento ng driver, naramdaman na niya nawawalan na ng hangin 'yung preno niya. Nagsimula sa right rear portion nu'ng gulong," De Roxas said.
