Julie Anne San Jose shows her music evolution through 'Chasing the Light'
The Kapuso performer launched the album last July 17 and was overwhelmed with the crowd’s reception of her new songs.
Just as she matures in show business, Julie Anne San Jose makes sure that her music is also evolving. For Asia’s Pop Sweetheart, her recently released album 'Chasing the Light' reflects her growth and improvement in the music industry.
“I want people [to see] or explore kung ano man 'yung innovations [na] ginawa ko dito sa album na ‘to. Since maganda 'yung reviews and feedback tungkol sa previous one na Forever EP, I wanted to give more [to say na] ‘ito pa 'yung kaya kong i-offer sa inyo’,” she said.
She wanted her internationally-produced Forever EP to be followed by an album that she hopes would reflect world-class Filipino music.
“I did Tidal Wave and Forever and Not Impressed [so] parang gusto ko sana nandun pa rin… Gusto ko na iba 'yung sound niya. I think that people should explore more and be ready for this kind of music kasi syempre nag-e-evolve din 'yung music industry natin and kailangan natin magkaroon ng open mind about it kasi marami na ring changes at nag-a-adapt tayo from other countries… So just to give them a different flavor… I hope they like it,” she added.

“Nagulat ako sa tao… They got to listen to some of the tracks saka ang sarap lang sa feeling na makita 'yung mga tao na nandyan sila for you, nag-che-cheer for you,” she shared.
