Derrick Monasterio fulfills childhood dream as a GMA Records artist

Derrick Monasterio signed a contract with GMA Records today, November 25, and the Kapuso hunk claimed that this project was a dream come true.

Present at Derrick's contract signing were Executive Vice President and COO of GMA Records Felipe S. Yalong, GMA Records Managing Director Rene Salta and GMA Artist Center Assistant Vice President Simoun Ferrer.

“’Yun po talaga ‘yung pinaka-dream ko nung bata ako, ang maging singer. Doon po talaga naka-focus ‘yung career ko nun kasi [nasa] choir po ako,” he admitted to the members of the press.

The actor-singer is elated to be starting a new project with the recording company of the Kapuso network.

Derrick shared, “[I’m] so happy kasi na-recognize nila ‘yung talent ko. Actually nakakatuwa kasi isa ako sa mga priorities nila so it’s an honor for me rin naman talaga.”

“In return, I’ll give them my full support din through promotions and syempre by doing my best in every opportunity,” he also added.

Derrick's first solo album under GMA Records is slated to be released early in 2016. His rendition of Kailangan Kita, the theme song for the Koreanovela King of Ambition, will also be included in the album.
