17-year-old boy drowns in Quezon river
A 17-year-old boy died after he drowned while swimming with his friends in Lucena City, Quezon, according to a report by GMA News stringer Peewee Bacuño.
Based on the report of the Lucena City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, the teenager was swimming with his friends in the Dumacaa River on Saturday.
The report said the teenager, whose name was not identified, went missing at 3 p.m., prompting his friends to seek help from the barangay officials.
Authorities immediately conducted a search and rescue operation. The teenager was later found, but efforts to resuscitate him failed.
