When the UAAP Cheerdance Competition feels too much like real life
And so another UAAP Cheerdance Competition has passed. Congratulations to the Adamson University Pep Squad! Party at San Marcelino, everyone!
On social media, the titos and the titas got their fingers working, throwing either overzealous praise (“Ohmygod, perfection thy name is ____”) or unforgiving scorn (“Hoy ___, anyare?”) at their school’s routine, probably while thinking of their payat college days and how many planks they’ll have to endure to get it back.
Meanwhile, over at the MOA Arena Saturday, about 19,000 people went gaga for school pride.
Now, before the usual deluge of news buries them deep in the annals of trending topics, allow us to pay a final tribute to the superstars of the UAAP CDC: the hardworking and super talented student-cheerdancers.
They are the epitome of how springy, bendy, and zesty youth can be. But most of all, we celebrate their passion (to win / to bring glory to their university / to not fall on their butt on national TV) and how they wear it on their faces and express it with their bodies.
Below is a collection of the most expressive cheerdancers of UAAP’s grand dance finale, along with the oh-so-familiar feels they made us feel.
