Pacquiao says he underwent angiogram days before bout with Matthysse

Filipino boxing icon Senator Manny Pacquiao had undergone angiogram in a hospital in Manila to determine whether he is suffering from heart problem days before his fight against Argentinian boxer Lucas Matthysse.

According to a report by GMA News stringer Garry Balantay, Pacquiao underwent angiogram on July 8 after an ECG test showed a "problem" in his heart.

"Noong nagpa-ECG tayo, parang may nakita sa result ng ECG na nagkaproblema, so nag-make sure lang 'yung doktor na walang problem kaya nag-undergo ako ng angiogram," he said.

"Pagtingin nila, wala mang problema."

Pacquiao, who won against Matthysse via technical knockout on July 15 in Malaysia, said aside from angiogram, he also underwent CT scan and drug test.

The eight-division world champion said he was cleared in all the tests.

Pacquiao admitted that very few of his relatives and only selected members of Team Pacquiao knew that he underwent angiogram.

"Hindi alam ng lahat ng team na nag-undergo ako," he said. —KBK, GMA News
