Pacquiao says he didn't know how he lost, but won't protest decision

Manny Pacquiao is not planning to file a protest against the judges' unanimous decision declaring Australian Jeff Horn as winner of the Battle of Brisbane on Sunday.

Pacquiao said in an interview on radio dzBB after the fight that he did not know how he lost, but he is just letting boxing fans decide who really won in his match with Horn in Australia.

"Ewan ko paano ako natalo. Nakita naman siguro ng mga tao, ng mga fan. Kahit i-review mo ang CompuBox, ahead naman tayo," Pacquiao said.

He said there is a way to protest the decision. "Pabayaan na lang siguro sa mga fans."

Pacquiao said that the referee of the fight seemed inexperienced.

"Pati iyong referee walang masyadong experience," he said.

According to CompuBox statistics, Pacquiao connected on 182 out of a total of 573 punches thrown (32 percent), while Horn connected on just 62 of 625 (15 percent).

Pacquiao landed 123 of 380 power punches (32 percent), while Horn connected on just 73 of 428 (17 percent). Pacquiao also got more jabs in, connecting 59 of 193 thrown (31 percent), while Horn went 19 of 197 (10 percent).

In a series of tweet, Pacquiao's colleague in the Senate, Richard Gordon, said it was clear that the Filipino boxing icon won the fight.

"The whole world is unanimous. Our man won. We are confident we did," Gordon said.

"Why does it feel we've been set up for a big money rematch? What do you expect from a Horn. A lot of headbutts. He elbowed and dragged. Well?" he added.

Gordon said Pacquiao still deserves the respect of everyone despite his loss. —ALG, GMA News
