Bong Go named head of PHL team delegation at next FIBA window

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas on Sunday named former Special Assistant to the President Christopher "Bong" Go as head of delegation for Team Pilipinas in the upcoming FIBA window.

The announcement was made Sunday during the half time break of the semi-finals game between the Meralco Bolts and Alaska Aces at the Ynares Center in Antipolo, Rizal.

According to SBP President Al Panlilio, Go, as head of the delegation, would be involved with the preparation for the upcoming FIBA window and would also attend practices.

The next FIBA window would be played in the Philippines on November 30 against Kazakhstan and December 3 against Iran.

Go said he was grateful to the SBP and PBA for the opportunity to be part of the team.

Furthermore, he believed that the odds were good that the Philippine team would win during the next FIBA games, despite the lineup being a "more Filipino, PBA lineup" with the absence of naturalized player Andray Blatche.

Go added that he will try to invite President Rodrigo Duterte to give the national team a boost. — Justin Kenneth Carandang/DVM, GMA News
