‘Running Man’ cast members compete with Filipino fans in virtual fan meet
Although the “Running Man” live event in Manila was postponed amid the pandemic, it didn’t stop the cast members from meeting their fans virtually!
During the event streamed on VLive app Friday evening, “Running Man” cast members Jee Seok-jin, Kim Jong-kook, HAHA, and Yang Se-chan took the time to not only meet their fans but also compete with them.
In partnership with Globe Kmmunity PH and the Korea Tourism Organization - Manila office, the “Running Man” cast competed with their fans in games such as “Yank it Up” and “Choco Chopsticks.”
The games required the contestants to yank a piece of paper underneath a stack of paper cups without having them topple over, and pick up choco bits using chopsticks.
All of the cast members appeared to be ecstatic with the games, even spewing out Filipino phrases such as “mahal ko kayo” during the live event.
Meanwhile, the Filipino competitors played from their own homes with their movements streamed on a screen.
“We hope COVID-19 will be over soon so we can see you in front of our your noses,” HAHA commented.
“Running Man” is South Korea’s longest running variety show. Earlier this year, South Korean TV network SBS has partnered with GMA to coproduce “Running Man Philippines,” which will incorporate our very own Filipino culture and feature Pinoy artists. – RC, GMA News
