Michelle Dee follows mom Melanie Marquez's footsteps into showbiz

Model Michelle Dee will be joining showbiz after signing with GMA Network.

Michelle made her first appearance as a Kapuso alongside other new signees, Miss Multinational Sophia Senoron and Miss World Philippines 2017 Laura Lehmann, on Monday.

Michelle said it has always been a dream for her to be a part of the showbiz industry like her mother Melanie Marquez.

"I've been really persevering to convince my manager, I said Tito Arnold [Vegafria], I really want to try it out, like I really wanted to be a part of GMA, like I talked to my mom about it, I really like the feeling here. Just talking about it, two years ago with my parents and my friends, just the idea and just, like, now it's happening. I'm signing the contract, it's, like, imagine a little girl and their dreams are coming true. It's like slowly one step at a time nare-reach ko na 'yong where I want to be," Michelle said.

GMA Senior Vice President for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable said the network has been mapping out projects for the ladies and they have been attending workshops to hone their acting skills.

"Unang-una bagay sila dito kasi magaganda sila, but we're very very happy and excited na dito nila pinili to be with the Kapuso networks and we're lining up projects for them in the near future. They'll have guestings in different shows, they are undergoing workshops now, maybe after that puwede natin sila bigyan ng mahahabang roles pero in the meantime iikot muna sila sa iba't iba nating programa," Ms. Lilybeth said said.
