Why Benedict Cumberbatch is the friend you want on your news feed this spoiler season

The Avengers are assembling for their most epic fight yet and on social media, another battle is running alongside the "Infinity War."

That's right: It's spoiler season!

Some have posted disclaimers about unfriending those posting spoilers, while others have already committed to staying off social media as the much-awaited Marvel movie begins its run.

Fortunately, they can find a new pal in Doctor Strange himself, Benedict Cumberbatch, who is apparently great at keeping secrets.

In an interview with Lyn Ching, Cumberbatch revealed that he's one of the few actors who read the entire script of the "Infinity War", but his old-fashioned literary background helped him keep secrets to himself.

"I have kept some pretty big secrets in the past, spoiler-wise, whether it's plot twists in 'Sherlock' or characters I play like Khan in 'Star Trek'" Cumberbatch told Ching.

Despite being an A-list actor and an "Internet boyfriend", Cumberbatch had a plain and traditional engagement announcement in the papers — a confirmation of his status as someone who won't blab about stuff.

Marvel fans take spoilers very seriously — much more seriously than some of the actors, like Mark Ruffalo, who accidentally livestreamed a portion of "Thor: Ragnarok" and lets slip some spoilers in interviews. Oops.

Meanwhile, without even trying, Cumberbatch effectively kept details of his life private as he answered Ching's question: "Which moment in time would you freeze?"

"Many, but that maybe oversharing. You can imagine some of them," the actor said. "In a weird way, I find that those moments they do burn so hard in your memory that it feels like they're always fixed points and that you'll never lose them."

We imagine this is about Cumberbatch's wife Sophie Hunter and their two boys. It's rather sweet of the actor to say that even if he could go back in time or freeze it, he wouldn't as he feels happy and lucky to be where he is. "I kind of like the flow of time," he shared.
