1. She’s incredibly strong. Bianca lost her mother to breast cancer when she was five years old, and then her father to heart attack when she was 10 years old. In fact, she told Jessica Soho, she was beside their deathbeds, watching them fight for their lives. “My last memory of my mom was nasa hospital bed po siya. Pareho ko po silang nakitang namatay. My last memories of them are really, really sad kasi when they were both nag-aagaw buhay, nandun po ako.”
2. For her, there’s no other way but forward. Whenever she feels down, she would tell herself, “Okay lang iyan. Nandito ka na ngayon, kaya mo pang mag-move forward. Kakayanin mo iyan, kinaya mo na [dati] so kakayanin mo pa lalo.”
3. Self-pity doesn’t sit well with Bianca. “If you’re going to focus on the negative, wala naman pong mangyayari sa inyo. What’s important is that you look forward, you stand up and move on,” she said.
4. She isn’t blindly positive. Despite her positive outlook, Bianca can and will realtalk you about ugly life situations. About losing her parents at a young age, she said it “wasn’t easy and it will never be easy until today. Masakit po siya and I will forever be incomplete.”
5.Bianca is a lola’s girl. Despite losing her parents early and being an only child, Bianca is never really alone.
She grew up with her cousins and her lola, whom she calls her superhero.
6. She puts herself to school. Juggling her studies and her show biz career is a feat in itself but finding out that she’s the one who puts herself to school is something else. Says Bianca she actually saves her money to be able to finish her education.
7. Her discipline is admirable. Instead of going YOLO, Bianca uses her free time to study instead. “Kapag on the set, kapag may free time or kapag walang ginagawa, doon ko po sinisingit yung school work.” Says Bianca her “teacher sends me the modules and the presentations that I have to study and may worksheets, may tests, tapos online kopo siya gagawin, and then ise-send ko lang po ulit sa kanila.”
8. She’s a woman of her word. Says Bianca, she’s 100 percent committed to finishing her studies because “it’s a promise I made to my lola, na kahit anong mangyari, magtatapos ako ng pag-aaral ko.”
9. She couldn’t care less about following a theme for her party. Bianca instead just followed her heart and had a party that “was everything that I wanted.”
10. She helped design one of her gowns for her party. The beautiful sleeveless beaded number was actually Bianca’s idea. It was executed by Dubai-based Filipino designer Fay Reyes.
11. She wants to become a serious actor. Says Bianca, she wants to land really challenging roles. “Gusto ko pong patunayan na kaya ko po yung mga challenging [na roles].
12. At 18, Bianca already knows what her job and purpose is. And that is, to make people happy by entertaining them through her craft. Being looked up to is just a bonus. “I don’t really see myself as someone na iniidolo ng mga tao.”
13. Bianca is incredibly independent. Unlike most celebrities, Bianca doesn’t have an entourage. She abides by the DIY mentality, and prefers to know how to accomplish things on her own, “na hindi kailangan ng maraming tao sa paligid ko.”
14. She’s come a long way. Bianca actually started in show business as an extra in teleseryes and commercials. In 2011, an 11-year-old Bianca landed a major role in "Magic Palayok". She's never looked back.
15. She’s worked hard for her figure. Bianca hasn’t had anything done to her face or her body, despite the popularity of plastic surgery. “Wala po akong pinaparetoke and I am proud at kaya ko pong ipagmayabang na lahat po ng meron ako, pinaghirapan ko and natural.”
16. She wants to make her parents proud. Said Bianca, whatever it is she’s doing is, she’s doing it for her parents. “I’m praying and hoping that they’re proud of me.”
17. She’s concerned about her parents’ purpose, too. The debutante said she wants to be able to fulfill the “purpose kung bakit nila ako ginawa. Kung bakit dahil po sa kanila, nabuhay po ako.”
18. She has a good head on her shoulders. Despite being nervous at turning 18, Bianca is well aware that she will have to be even more responsible now that she’s an adult. “There will be more responsibilities now. Mas maraming mga bagay ang kailangan ko i-consider. I’m sure mag-iiba yung perspective ko in life.” — LA, GMA News
