MMDA: Number coding scheme suspended on SONA Day on Monday, July 24, 2023

The implementation of the expanded number coding scheme will be suspended on Monday, July 24, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

This will coincide with the second State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. which will be held at the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City.

Transport group Manibela had also announced that they would be holding a transport strike on July 24 to 26 to protest the December 31 deadline for the consolidation phase of the PUV modernization program.

Marcos earlier approved the cancellation of classes and work in government offices on Monday due to the expected inclement weather caused by Tropical Storm Egay and the transport strike. —Giselle Ombay/KG, GMA Integrated News
