CebuPac, PAL announce more cancelled flights for Friday
Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines announced more cancelled flights for Friday as authorities continued their recovery and investigation on the Xiamen Airways flight that was stalled on the runway of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippine (CAAP) said normal operations may not resume until 4 p.m. as cleanup continues on NAIA Terminal 1's International Runway 06/24.
Cebu Pacific Vice President for Corporate Affairs JR Mantaring updated their list of cancelled flights in an interview on Dobol B sa News TV, which were as follows:
- 5J 272 Manila-Hong Kong
- 5J 929 Manila-Bangkok
- 5J 5054 Manila-Narita
- 5J 110 Manila-Hong Kong
- 5J 273 Hong Kong-Manila
- 5J 930 Bangkok-Manila
- 5J 5055 Narita-Manila
- 5J 111 Hong Kong-Manila
- 5J 805 Manila-Singapore
- 5J 806 Singapore-Manila
Meanwhile, the following flights were diverted to Clark International Airport:
- 5J 804 Singapore-Manila
- 5J 187 Incheon-Manila
Mantaring said no domestic flights were affected by the incident. He added that it was their priority at the moment to ensure the safety and comfort of their passengers over assigning blame to other airlines.
"Yung mga usapin na related dito, normally, hindi namin priority na pag-usapan ngayon," he said. "As early as 5:30 a.m., nagpalabas na kami ng advisory ng affected na flights."
Passengers whose flights were affected were advised to stay home and avail of rebooking, refunds, or put the cost of ticket in their travel fund within 30 days of the original travel date.
Transportation will be provided to those whose flights were diverted to Clark.
Philippine Airlines, in a statement, said the following flights were canceled as of 11:30 a.m.:

- PR453/454 Manila-Gen.Santos-Manila
- PR432 Manila-Tokyo Narita
- PR422/421 Manila-Tokyo Haneda-Manila
- PR507/508 Manila -Singapore-Manila
- PR418/419 Manila-Busan-Manila
- PR1466/17AUG & PR467/18AUG Manila-Seoul Incheon-Manila
- PR730/731 Manila-Bangkok-Manila
- PR438/439 Manila-Nagoya-Manila
- PR 720/721 Manila-London-Manila
Meanwhile, the following PAL flights were delayed:

"But let me stress na operational pa rin po 'yung runway 1331. Ito po ang runway para sa narrow-body aircraft. Kung ang lipad niyo po ay narrow-body or single aircraft, tuloy po 'yan sa araw na 'to," PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said in an interview on Dobol B sa News TV.
Three line buses have been deployed to Clark International Airport to provide free transportation to passengers to Manila.
PAL passengers may call 855-8888 or log on the airline's website to check the status of their flights. They may also rebook or refund their flights within 30 days of the original departure date. —KBK, GMA News
