Heavy rains over Cagayan, Isabela; Signal 2 remains over Catanduanes

Light to moderate rains with occasional heavy rains may be experienced over the eastern portion of Cagayan and Isabela on Friday, PAGASA said in its Severe Weather Bulletin on Thursday.

In the 5 p.m. advisory, the weather bureau added that light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains are expected over Northern Aurora, Camarines Norte, and Polillo Island.

Meanwhile, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 due to Tropical Storm Ramon remains over Catanduanes, while TCWS no. 1 remains over the following areas:

  • Eastern portion of Isabela (Divilacan, Palanan, Dinapigue)
  • Northern Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan)
  • Polillo Island, Camarines Norte
  • Camarines Sur
  • Albay

TCWS no. 1 was lifted over Sorsogon, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar.

PAGASA advised residents of the affected areas, especially those living in areas susceptible to flooding and landslides, to take precautionary measures and coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices.

The weather bureau also cautioned sea travel over the seaboards of areas under TCWS, the seaboards of Northern Luzon, and the eastern seaboards of Aurora and Quezon due to potentially rough sea conditions.

The next Severe Weather Bulletin will be issued at 11 p.m. on Thursday.

At 4 p.m. on Thursday, Ramon was last estimated at 500 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora with maximum sustained winds of up to 65 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Ramon is maintaining its strength as it moves north northwest at 15 kph. — MDM
