Monsoon rains expected in Metro Manila

The southwest monsoon will be affecting the western section of northern and central Luzon on Friday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Ilocos region, Zambales, Bataan and Palawan will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms brought about by the southwest monsoon.

The state weather bureau warned the residents in these areas of possible flooding in low lying areas.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

The residents are advised to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides due to light to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The coastal water conditions in the western part of northern and central Luzon will be moderate to rough but for the rest of the country it would be slight to moderate. — BAP, GMA News
