Light to heavy rain expected over east Visayas, Luzon areas – PAGASA
Even though Severe Tropical Storm Jelawat (formerly Tropical Storm Caloy) was 1,300 kilometers east-northeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, PAGASA reported in a Friday morning forecast that the storm's trough would bring cloudy conditions with scattered rain and thunderstorms over the Eastern Visayas, Catanduanes, and Sorsogon.
The rest of the country could meanwhile expect partly cloudy to cloudy conditions and isolated rainshowers.
Winds would be moderate to strong from the northeast to northwest over the northern and eastern sections of the country, where coastal water would moderate to rough.
Over the rest of the country, winds would be slight to moderate from the north to northwest with slight to moderate coastal waters. — DVM, GMA News
