Urduja makes landfall over Aklan
Tropical Depression Urduja made landfall over Malay, Aklan on Sunday night, said PAGASA.
According to the state weather bureau's 8 p.m. weather bulletin, the eye of Urduja was located in the vicinity of Buruanga, Aklan packing maximum sustained winds of up to 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 80 kilometers per hour.
PAGASA said Urduja is forecast to move west southwest at 15 kilometers per hour.
PAGASA said scattered to at times widespread rains will continue to prevail over Mindoro provinces and Northern Palawan including Cuyo and Calamian Group of Islands and the rest of Palawan.
PAGASA warned residents of those areas for possible flooding and landslides.
Tropical Cyclone Signal Warning Number 1 has remained hoisted over the following areas:
- southern part of Mindoro province
- Romblon
- Palawan
- Aklan
- Northern Antique
Meanwhile, as of 5 p.m., PAGASA located a tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) 1,925 kilometers east of Mindanao with maximum sustained winds of 40 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 50 kilometers per hour. — Anna Felicia Bajo/BM, GMA News
