PAGASA: Typhoon Santi crosses Nueva Ecija, Tarlac

After making landfall over Aurora, Typhoon Santi (international name Nari) crossed Nueva Ecija and Tarlac provinces before dawn Saturday, state weather forecasters said. In posts on its website and social media accounts, PAGASA said Santi was in the vicinity of Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija at midnight Friday. By 1 a.m., it was over San Antonio town in Nueva Ecija or 90 km east of Iba, Zambales. At 2 a.m., Santi was in the vicinity of Tarlac City or 60 km east of Iba, Zambales. Santi was in the vicinity of San Jose in Tarlac or 40 km east of Iba, Zambales by 3 a.m., it added. PAGASA said that as of 3 a.m., Santi still packed maximum winds of 150 kph and gustiness of 185 kph, and is forecast to move west at 17 kph. — DVM, GMA News
