NDRRMC: 106K turned out for Pope from nunciature to MOA and back

When Pope Francis went to the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City to meet with families on Friday, the number of well-wishers who lined the roads to see him and who packed the venue itself was at least 106,000, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said.

In its update, the NDRRMC said
there were 19,000 seated people in the MOA parking area, 15,000 inside the arena, and 30,000 in the vicinity of the venue.

The NDRRMC said another 10,500 were at Roxas Boulevard corner Quirino Avenue to Gil Puyat, while 10,000 more were at Gil Puyat to Cuneta Astrodome.

Some 8,000 were at the Apostolic Nunciature while 8,000 more lined the street from Heritage to MOA Globe.

Another 3,000 were along Quirino Avenue while 2,500 lined the streets from Heritage to Baclaran.

The Pope had a busy schedule Friday, paying a call on President Benigno Aquino III in Malacañang and leading a Mass for the religious at the Manila Cathedral before the MOA event. — Joel Locsin/BM, GMA News
