La Union town mayor, vice mayor ambushed —police

The mayor and vice mayor of Balaoan, La Union, were ambushed Wednesday morning while on their way to the municipal hall, according to Jonathan Andal's report on Dobol B sa News TV.

Mayor Aleli Concepcion and her father, Vice Mayor Alfred Concepcion, were rushed to the hospital following the ambush but it was not clear what their condition was.

Citing Senior Superintendent Ricardo Layug Jr., La Union Police director, the report said the ambush happened at 8:10 a.m. along Balaoan Luna-Road in Barangay Kabuwaan.

The two victims were on board two vehicles together with their aides when shot by unidentified men. —KBK, GMA News
