Mild quake hits Surigao del Norte — PHIVOLCS

A 5.1-magnitude quake hit Surigao del Norte province 24 minutes after midnight on Wednesday, according to a bulletin issued by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

The epicenter was identified by the agency at San Francisco town in Surigao del Norte with a depth of 17 kilometers and tectonic in origin.

An Intensity V quake, meanwhile, was felt in Surigao City, Intensity IV in Pintuyan in Southern Leyte, Intensity II in Palompon town also in Leyte.
