Kin of Bulacan plane crash victims to file case vs. aircraft operator

Relatives of those killed when a plane crashed into a house in Plaridel, Bulacan said they will file a case against the operator of the aircraft.

"Magpakita 'yung may-ari ng eroplano. Bakit ayaw nilang makipag-usap sa amin? Kami 'yung nawalan," said Fe Pagaduan de Vera, mother of victim Vera Pagaduan, in a 24 Oras report by Mav Gonzales.

The grieving mother read out the last message she had received from Vera: "'Text kita na lang... kayo pag sa bus ko na po kami agad at ingat din po kayo, Mama..." She said she opposed Vera's dream of becoming a pilot.

Other family members of victims also flocked to the crash site in Purok Tres, Barangay Lumang Bayan to look for things that will let them remember their deceased loved ones.

Ten people were killed in the incident: five were passengers on the plane, and five were occupants of the house that the plane crashed into.

Killed on the ground were Rissa Santos dela Rosa, her mother Luisa Santos, and Rissa's children John Noel, 17; Timothy, 15; and Trish, 7.

Rissa's husband Noel dela Rosa and another child, Leo dela Rosa, were not in the house hen the accident happened.

"Pauwi na rin po ko noon eh. Kung di lang po ko na-late ng uwi, kung di lang po traffic siguro po kasama ko," said Leo.

The lawyer for plane operator Lite Air Express vowed that the company will provide assistance to the bereaved families.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said that an investigation is underway.

"Definitely there will be sanctions if they found out na talagang human error ito o maintenance error, mananagot 'yung operator at mechanics," CAAP spokesperson Eric Apolonio said. — Anna Felicia Bajo/BM, GMA News
