Paolo, Baste Duterte, Bong Go join Inday Sara's Hugpong ng Pagbabago

The sons of President Rodrigo Duterte, Paolo and Baste, have joined their sister Davao City Mayor Inday Sara's party Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) on Friday.

Apart from the two siblings, Special Assistant to the President Christopher "Bong" Go also joined thew newly formed political party.

"I strongly support Hugpong ng Pagbabago, the regional political party founded by my sister, Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte. I believe in the principles of HNP and its aspirations to establish a strong and competitive Davao Region resonate significantly with many political leaders," Paolo, a former Davao City vice mayor, said in a statement on Facebook.

"As I join HNP today, I also commit to its advocacies and determined resolve to support President Rody [Rodrigo] and push for the fulfillment of the Duterte administration’s plans and programs for the country and the Filipino people," Paolo added.

Meanwhile, Go thanked the HNP for its "sincere" support of Duterte through its advocacies, and for earning the trust of the public to support the President's programs.

Go, in his speech, also credited the HNP for showing the public that Duterte's three-pronged campaign against corruption, illegal drugs, and criminality was being efficiently implemented.

The three joined other new members in the oath-taking ceremony held at the SMX Convention Center in Davao City.

While he was being welcomed to also join the HNP, President Rodrigo Duterte had already said he was staying with the ruling party PDP-Laban amid facing a leadership conflict.

A number of political parties earlier in the week also signed a coalition agreement with the growing regional party founded by Mayor Inday Sara. — MDM, GMA News
