Grace Poe on Arroyo speakership: ‘Nakapanghihina ng loob’

Senator Grace Poe has expressed dismay that former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo had been elected Speaker of the House of the Representatives

Poe recalled the allegations of corruption against the Pampanga lawmaker when she was President from 2001 to 2010.

She said that it was disheartening that Arroyo was once again holding one of the top posts in the country.

Poe is the daughter of the late actor Fernando Poe Jr. who lost to Arroyo during the 2004 presidential elections.

The actor had protested the results of the polls.

“Kung seryoso talaga laban sa korupsyon siguro hindi tayo aabot sa puntong ganito,” Poe said of Arroyo's installation as Speaker.

Poe said how could Duterte implement his anti-corruption campaign if there were members of the government who are accused of corruption.

‘Yung iba nga diyan napo-promote,” Poe said.

Duterte said in his third State of the Nation Address that his campaign against corruption will continue. —NB, GMA News
